You have some trouble to publish your feed?

Troubleshooting Methodology - International languages | Under construction

This little guide is here to help you to troubleshoot using the tools we provide.

DO NOT PANIC: Technical problems arrive and panicking won’t help. You must remain calm to troubleshoot effectively.

Stopping everything won’t help because you won’t understand what went wrong and the root cause: 99.9% of the reported issues are human’s mistakes.

1.Workflow:

Ref 1: local encoder

Ref 2: local internet connection or network for producer

Ref 3: easylive.io platform

Ref 4: local internet connection or network for receiver

Ref 5: RTMP pulled into local encoder

2. Prerequisite

A - Activate flash on your local browser to make sure you can access all monitoring tools provided by easylive.io.

In Chrome, go to chrome://settings/content/flash then, click in the section “Allow” on  “Add” and copy paste the following url: https://www.goeasy.live:443

B - Download VLC player: you can download it here: https://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

3. International broadcasters are complaining about the RTMP (5)

Being the last step of the process, every single step before could be the cause of the issue. So the idea here is to isolate every step one after the other and isolate the root cause.

Case 1: Only 1 broadcaster complaining

1. Ask him which RTMP url he is using

2. Copy paste this url and test it using VLC player (File/Open network/ copy paste the url)

⇒ Do you see the same reported issue?

No ⇒ it comes from his local network or computer. Ask him to restart his computer and local internet connection. There is nothing you can do about it. It is a local issue that he has to solve.

Yes ⇒ go to next step

4. Open the RTMP list and test each url listed with VLC player.

You can find the RTMP list in the "Publish" section, next to the selected output, click on the question mark “?”.

If you don’t notice any issue ⇒ go to point 4.

If just this specific RTMP has an issue ⇒ contact support@easylive.io and report the issue.

If all the RTMP have the same issue ⇒ go to point 5.

5. Ask him to ingest another url close from where he is

⇒ Do you have the same result ?

Yes ⇒ it comes from his local network or computer. Ask him to restart his computer and local internet connection. There is nothing you can do about it. It is a local issue that he has to solve.

No ⇒ contact support@easylive.io and report the issue.

6. Access easylive.io Publish section and click on “RTMP” to check the quality.

You can now look at the quality we are currently delivering.

⇒ Is the quality of the live feed as expected?
