About BCAN (Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network)

BCAN’s mission is to increase public awareness about bladder cancer; to advance bladder cancer research; and to provide educational and support services for the bladder cancer community.

Live stream needs & objectives

The BCAN needed an all-in-one cloud based solution to multicast special live streams on several destinations and to interact with experts remotely during the COVID19 crisis. It was really important for the organization to keep in touch with people and to keep supporting and informing them about the bladder cancer cause. missions

  • Used Multistreams service to broadcast expert interviews and virtual initiatives on multiple destinations at once (Twitter, Facebook and YouTube)
  • Provide a complete solution to custom their live streams (graphic templates, logos, sponsor logos, titles...) 
  • Ensure a video production remotely by inviting remote guests and experts without any risks and staying at home 
  • Mix any types of content in a live stream (VOD, live interviews, pictures, testimonies...) 
  • Create fully automated media playlists to highlight the BCAN's initiatives already did and to highlight and support the volunteers, sponsors, doctors and sick people
  • Provide a strong back up to securize the feed and to guarantee a full live stream redundancy 
  • Ensure the technical support 

Special talk show: Bladder Cancer in a Time of Crisis

During the COVID-19 period, the others diseases don't go away. That is why the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network decided to broadcast an interactive and insightful live discussion about having bladder cancer in a time of COVID-19.
They invited remote guests to talk about patient's worries and special procedures. Viewers also asked questions in the comment section during and after the broadcast.

For this live stream, BCAN team essentially used:

- Our conferencing feature: BCAN invited remote experts discussing a specific matter.
- Our cloud based Studio: everyone at home, the guests and the producer (Mark Story), controlled the show from the Control room.
- Our editing tools: Mark mixed the live sources with lower thirds, logo, background, etc...
- Our multistream technology: BCAN published this content live to several destinations at the same time (Twitter/Periscope,Youtube and Facebook).





Virtual Walk to End Bladder Cancer

The BCAN decided to kick off Bladder Cancer Awareness Month inviting people to joined their 2020 Virtual Walk to End Bladder Cancer.
They broadcasted videos of walk participants from all over the country, musical performances by bladder cancer patients and caregivers as well as cameo appearances by bladder cancer doctors, patients and advocates. A great initiative to keep supporting the cause.
