What is MLB?

Major League Baseball (MLB) is an American professional baseball organization and the oldest of the major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada. A total of 30 teams play in Major League Baseball: 15 teams in the National League (NL) and 15 in the American League (AL).

Live stream needs & objectives

Every year, Major League Baseball organizes the World Series, contested between the champion teams of the American League and the National League. For the 2020 World Series, MLB engaged with one of its sponsors to activate a program to promote youth baseball. MLB needed a professional solution to capture live reactions of youth baseball players to be displayed virtually within the broadcast. It was a unique experience for the participating children and an innovative integration for the sponsor.

2020 World Series' FanWall 

 

For this live stream, MLB used our #FanWall.tv technology to:

 

  • Retrieve participant camera stream remotely (16 remote guests in total)
  • Create a Fan Wall view with all the guests and switching to different groups on the fly
  • Push the video production in a GFX Box (A huge "Virtual screen" displayed in the stadium) and display during the broadcast.
  • Secure feeds for a professional production.
  • Ensure a high quality stream adapted to the screen size and broadcaster standards
  • Creating innovative and unique inventory for MLB’s sponsor
